Lunenburg County Criminal Lawyer

If you have been charged with a crime in Lunenburg County, you may feel like it is the end of your life as you know it. Probation, house arrest, community service, large fines, driving restrictions, incarceration – all of these penalties could be in store for you if you are found guilty of a misdemeanor or felony offense.

Even after you settle your tangible debts with the criminal justice system, it could be extremely difficult to obtain things such as employment, housing and a college education once you have a record.

Fortunately, it does not need to be this way. With the help of a licensed Lunenburg County criminal lawyer, you can fight your charges and come away with the best possible outcome for your case and could avoid any of those potential problems that are associated with a conviction. Our attorneys will work hard to account for every detail of your case in building a robust, aggressive defense.

Felony Defense in Lunenburg County

The most severe crimes handled by the criminal justice system are classified as felonies as opposed to misdemeanors. Due to the severity of their nature, felonies come with extremely stiff penalties that can include prison time (including up to life in prison), astronomical fines, hundreds of hours worth of community service, years of probation, driving restrictions and permanent registry as a sex offender, in the case of sex crimes.

In addition to these penalties, a felony conviction will be reflected on your permanent record, making it extremely difficult to find stable employment in a wide variety of career fields.

Felony charges need to be taken very seriously, which is why it is so important to have a reputable, experienced attorney on your side during every step of the legal process. Our firm has extensive experiencing fighting and beating the following felony charges and many more:·

  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Homicide
  • Aggravated assault
  • Arson
  • Sexual crimes such as sexual assault
  • White collar crimes including fraud (for more information, visit this page)
  • Drug distribution and trafficking
  • Armed robbery
  • Drug manufacturing/growing

Misdemeanor Defense in Lunenburg County

Our attorneys also have winning track records in fighting misdemeanor charges, which are considered less serious than felony charges. While penalties for misdemeanors are obviously less severe than penalties for felony convictions, they can still be emotionally and financially devastating. If convicted of a misdemeanor, and depending on the type and circumstances, you could face up to a year in jail in addition to fines, house arrest, probation, community service, driving restrictions and more.

In some cases, crimes normally filed as misdemeanors are instead charged as felonies, particularly when the circumstances of the crime are deemed especially serious. In instances such as these, a licensed Lunenburg County defense attorney will fight to have your charges dropped to the lowest possible categorization.
