Eva grew up in Hanover County and has called Richmond home since 2009. She attended the College of William and Mary for her bachelor’s degree, graduating cum laude. For her juris doctor, Eva went to the University of Richmond School of Law on a full merit scholarship. There, she was active in the Children’s Defense Clinic, Institute for Actual Innocence, and the Trial Advocacy Board, receiving the Orrell-Brown Award for Clinical Excellence in the Children’s Defense Clinic.
When she is not in court, Eva enjoys spending time with her husband and baby son, raising chickens, traveling, and crossword puzzles.

Before joining Price Benowitz, Eva R. Swanson was an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Richmond, fighting for the constitutional rights of indigent defendants. Prior to that, Eva was in private practice serving injured workers as a Workers’ Compensation attorney.
