Thomas Soldan

Thomas Soldan is a past president of the Fauquier County Bar Association and a member of the Virginia Bar Association. His first academic introduction to the field of law came as he earned his bachelor’s degree in Government-Law and History at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. After graduating cum laude, with special honors in History for his thesis on the application of world systems theory to the growth of baseball around the world, Thomas decided to pursue a legal degree.

Thomas continued his education at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, where he earned his juris doctorate. While attending law school, Thomas actively participated in the Special Education Clinic, putting his growing legal knowledge to work as a pro bono advocate for the disadvantaged parents of special needs children.

Additionally, Thomas served as a peer mentor for international students, and also worked as LexisNexis associate, helping fellow law candidates with research and writing projects and aiding members of the law review journal with their research projects.

Upon graduation, Thomas returned to his home state of Virginia and set up shop as a practicing criminal defense lawyer. His first gig back home was working with a discovery and document review team in Richmond, Virginia. But he longed for the action of courtroom litigation –  his real passion – and he soon got the chance to get back to trying cases after gaining employment with a boutique general litigation firm in Warrenton, Virginia. During his time in Warrenton, Thomas was able to get his hands and mind on all types of cases, earning valuable courtroom experience taking both civil and criminal cases to trial.

In 2011, Thomas joined the ranks of Price Benowitz LLP and began to hone his focus on defending clients facing criminal charges including traffic, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, assault, robbery, homicide, and more.

When Thomas isn’t in the courtroom or at the office, he can usually be found on a baseball diamond. A founding member of the Occoquan River Bandits Baseball Team, an expansion franchise in the wood-bat, NABA accredited Blue-Gray League, Thomas and his teammates regularly pit their skills against other baseball enthusiasts throughout the Virginia and DC Metro region.

Occasionally, when there isn’t a legal strategy to be fashioned, a case to be tried, or a double to hit in the gap, Thomas takes a break to sit back and take in a professional baseball game at Nationals Park, where he’s a season ticket holder.

But Thomas never sits still for long. He’s also an avid trail runner, having completed races as long as 50K. He also enjoys team running, having completed legs with his friends as participant in the Grindstone 100 Mile Race, Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run, and, most recently, the Western States Endurance Run in California.
